Getting in a Journal

I haven’t blogged in a log time, however, I’ve been steadily working on my project. I’ve had to support myself through all this, which hasn’t been easy, and I am looking for work again.

I realize I need to be published in a journal to get traction on this project. I haven’t had success yet, probably due to the fact that I only hold an undergraduate degree. It would be nice to collaborate with someone with a PhD. I have worked with texts from all over which have been written using the parable blueprint. Turns out the parable blueprint was used even in Chinese, Japanese, Russian, German and lots of other texts too.

I gave two papers in Helsinki, Finland, in 2018 at a SBL/EABS conference. I showed examples of the structure in Ecclesiastes, a book in which the writer even alludes to the literary structure. (I’ll make another post about that. ) I also showed examples from Amarna Correspondences, Hebrew Poetry and the Gospels.

Here are some of the texts I’ve been working on in the last 1-3 years, basically outlining the parables in part so I can cover as much territory as possible to see when and how far the structure spread. These are mostly in rough draft stages. If you are interested in working with any of these with me in their original language in some sort of academic partnership, let me know! Here they are, but I have more too:
